Dr. Ibrahim Odeh Named Top 40 Under 40 by Consulting-Specifying Engineer
The Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics department is pleased to announce that Dr. Ibrahim Odeh has been recognized by Consulting-Specifying Engineer among its recipients of the 2018 40 Under 40 award. This award is given to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals age 40 and younger who stand out in a host of personal and professional aspects in their lives. Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged by industry experts based on nine areas including their commitment to superiority in their academic, professional, personal, and community involvement. In the May edition and online, Consulting-Specifying Engineer honored each of these young professionals, highlighting qualities that lead him/her to sustained success, recent professional projects, and personal achievements. Winners will be presented with their award at a ceremony in Chicago on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
“This year’s 40 Under 40 winners are versatile, experienced, ambitious, and inspiring,” said Amara Rozgus, Editor-in-Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer. “Now in its eleventh year, the program continues to honor the best in the industry. And it’s more competitive each year—these winners really were stand-outs in a crowded field of nominees.”
Earlier this year Dr. Odeh was also Named as Top 20 Under 40 by Engineering News Records. He is the founding director of the Global Leaders in Construction Management at Columbia University. He has also worked on a number of consulting and advising projects with leading firms such as Skanska, Turner, AECOM, Dentons, Vertex Engineering, AI Engineers and many others. In addition, he serves as an industry expert and advisory committee member at the World Economic Forum on a multi-year project focused on studying "The Future of Construction." Dr. Odeh is also an advisory board member at Financial Times in London on the “Future of Construction” Summit, as well as a member of several other advisory boards and committees such as: Smart City Works; Indus.ai; Initiafy; Columbia University Middle East Research Center; CG/LA Infrastructure; and AAAEA Tristate.
